Covid-19 Protocol

Applicable to hiking and cycling activities, organised by a Tour Operator

The following rules of conduct and monitoring relating to the COVID-19 emergency apply to the tour operator, to staff and accompanying persons, and to customers.

The protocol includes three distinct time phases:

1. before the activity - preparation and verification

2. during the activity - monitoring and emergency management

3. after the activity - feedback

 

Phase 1: Preparation and verification

The Guide / Companion / Staff:

• Know the procedures for dealing with a possible Covid-19 emergency in the group as stated (1) how to manage / isolate a person potentially affected by Covid-19, (2) how to activate rescue

• Have a supply of personal protective equipment (1) face masks, (2) gloves, (3) alcohol based gel, (4) goggles, (5) infrared digital thermometer (optional)

The Company:

• Define the appropriate number of participants based on the activity performed and the spaces available

• Practice sanitation of equipment provided to customers

• Provide adequate protective material to staff including masks, gloves, alcohol-based gels, goggles, suitable detergents as well as emergency numbers

• Encourage the use of electronic payments

• Notification to customers about the Covid rules of behaviour to be followed during the activity

• Make sure each staff member and supplier has the Covid security protocol,

•   Have the customer sign the declaration in which they declare:
- to know that in case of fever (over 37.5 °) or other flu symptoms there is an obligation to stay at home and to contact the family doctor,

 - that they have no reasonable suspicion of a possible ongoing Covid 19 infection,

- to undertake the compliance  with all the provisions provided by authorities and the rules of conduct indicated by the company, with particular reference to maintaining a safe distance and compliance with the rules of hygiene,

- to undertake immediately to inform the companion or company staff in the event of any flu-like symptoms during the activity.

PHASE 2: During the Activity/Experience/Stay

The Guide / Companion / Staff:

• Make sure that participants have signed the above release form,

• Immediately notify the company of any suspected Covid-19 symptoms found in the group,

• Control and evaluate all of the participants' protective devices,

• During the briefing, remember and refer to the government directions and the required rules of behaviour,

• Respect and enforce the indications on social distancing and the correct use of personal masks for customers,

• Verify that even during accessory activities such as visits, tastings, etc., safety protocols are respected,

• Removal from the group and / or suspension of activity in the event of a serious failure in compliance with the Covid security protocol,

• Identify the equipment used so that it is recognisable by individual customers (labels on bikes, helmets, etc. with clearly visible names, etc.)

 The company:

• Monitoring and assistance activities (including remotely) in case of need

 

PHASE 3: After the Activity / Experience

The Guide / Companion / Staff:

• Sanitation and cleaning of all company equipment used during the activity, with exceptions indicated by the company,

• Report to the company any improvements to be made to the protocol

Customers:

• Report anomalies or suggestions to be made to the protocol

The company:

• Promptly manage customer and staff reports (where applicable)
